Amazon.com this week launched a service that stores and fulfills orders for small and mid-size businesses. Amazon charges handling fees of 50 cents per item plus 40 cents per pound, and storage fees
of 45 cents per month per cubic foot for the service, "Fulfillment by Amazon," which also allows Amazon shoppers to use their Amazon Prime shipping discounts with third-party merchants. Also this
week, Amazon launched "WebStore by Amazon," which allows businesses to create their own branded e-commerce stores, selling Amazon.com inventory alongside their own products for a 7 percent commission.
