Continuing to restructure amid broad industry growth, aQuantive's Avenue A/Razorfish late last week promoted Garrick Schmitt to lead the company's research-based national user experience team. With
the company for seven years, Schmitt most recently served as vice president of the agency's user experience team in San Francisco. With an eye on Internet retail, aQuantive has hired David Towers
as vice president, managing director in Los Angeles. Towers, who most recently served as vice president of e-commerce at Liz Claiborne Inc., will now be responsible for overseeing the daily operations
of Avenue A/Razorfish's Los Angeles offices and its 40 employees.
The shop has also brought on Greg Pomaro to serve as vice president and director of media in Seattle. In his new
role, Pomaro will manage and oversee media planning and buying for all Seattle clients. An industry veteran, Pomaro most recently served as vice president and media director at Carat Fusion in San
Francisco. While at Carat Fusion, Pomaro managed the media and buying for the agency's major retail, telecommunications and technology clients. Pomaro began his career at traditional media agencies,
including J. Walter Thompson (now JWT), and Tatham EURO RSCG, where he developed and created online programs for food and packaged goods clients.
In November, the agency promoted Bruce Woolsey
from his position as head of Avenue A's Seattle offices to vice president of advanced marketing solutions--a newly created position overseeing marketing efforts in emerging media, including podcasts,
online video and mobile.
