SimplyHired Syndicates Job Listings

Job search site SimplyHired.com today will launch a service that allows Web publishers, including bloggers, to include links to job listings that are contextually relevant to the subject matter of their sites.

The service, which is similar to the contextual ad programs like Google's AdSense and the Yahoo Publisher Network, is aimed at smaller publishers with a dedicated reader base, according to CEO Gautam Godhwani. "What this new offering allows us to do is really take the job search that's on our site out to the various niche communities," he said.

Several major tech and business bloggers have already signed up for the service, including search expert John Battelle, marketing blogger Guy Kawasaki, HR industry blogger Joel Cheesman, and media guru Jeff Jarvis. SimplyHired has also secured a partnership with blogging company SixApart, which will allow users of the TypePad blogging platform to add job listings through the TypePad interface.

The company's launch benefited from a recent policy change by Google's AdSense program--one of the largest contextual ad sellers on the Web. On Jan. 18, the search giant changed its contextual ad policy to allow Web site publishers to incorporate ad units from other contextual advertisers, so long as the ad units were not formatted with the same font or borders as AdSense units.
