Top Network Shows Awarded Peabodys

The prestigious Peabody Awards were announced yesterday and several entertainment series were selected. They include NBC's "Friday Night Lights," Showtime's "Brotherhood," ABC's "Ugly Betty," NBC's "The Office" and "Scrubs." Cable network HBO received several Peabodys, including one for Spike Lee's documentary about New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina, "When The Levees Broke: A Requiem in Four Acts." The Peabody Board is a 16-member group, comprised of television critics, broadcast and cable industry executives and experts in culture and the arts. The oldest honor in electronic media, the Peabodys do not recognize categories--nor is there a set number of awards given each year.
