Sprint Nextel CMO Third To Leave Major Telecom Carrier

Mark Schweitzer, who led the marketing efforts of Sprint Corp. as it merged with Nextel, has left the company.

Tim Kelly, president of Sprint Nextel's customer management organization, will take over the CMO post. He will be replaced in the customer-management role by Steve Nielsen, currently senior vice president/chief service officer.

Schweitzer is the third CMO to leave a major telecommunications carrier in recent months. Previously, Mike Butler left T-Mobile, and Marc Lefar resigned from AT&T's mobility unit.
