Three days after shareholders overwhelmingly approved its plans to go private, Tribune Company released its latest monthly revenues report, showing interactive revenues as a bright spot in a largely
gloomy July.
Tribune's interactive revenues, which are mostly reported as part of its classified revenues, were $22 million--up 11 percent year-over-year. Classified advertising as a
whole, however, was down 18.2% to $87.6 million.
Overall, Tribune revenues were down 5.9% to $467 million--with total ad revenues down 10.3% to $247 million, and national ad revenues down 3.7%.
Tribune expects its conversion to a private company to be completed in the fourth quarter.
