'Samantha' Soars, CBS Comedies Click

Not many new shows maintain ratings after their season debuts. Few would have predicted that ABC's "Samantha Who?" would be one of those shows this season.

"Samantha" grabbed an identical Nielsen Media Research live-plus-same-day 4.5 rating/10 share on Monday--the same numbers it had a week ago. ABC also got some good news for its "Dancing With The Stars," which climbed 17% to a 5.5/13 over the week before.

This gave the network an easy win on Monday night--a 4.6/11, up from a 4.3/11 the week before.

CBS' early evening comedies improved nicely on the night: "How I Met Your Mother" rose to a 3.4/9 from a 3.1/8 the week before; "The Big Bang Theory" went north to a 3.5/9 from a 3.1/8; and "Two and a Half Men" inched to a 4.8/11 from 4.7/11. Slipping back a bit were "Rules of Engagement" and "CSI: Miami." CBS ended the night with a 4.1/10.

NBC dropped 8% on the night--to a 3.4/8 from a 3.7/9 the week before. Its mainstay "Heroes" gave up 6% to a 4.9/11. and rookie show "Chuck" dropped 12% to a 2.9/7.
