Gannett, Tribune Will Expand Metromix

The Gannett Company is joining forces with the Tribune Company to expand Metromix, a network of local sites focusing on nightlife and entertainment, the companies announced Monday. Through the deal, the network, previously owned exclusively by the Tribune Company, will benefit from listings gathered by Gannett's chain of local newspapers and Web sites. The network, now owned as a joint venture by the two companies, is being renamed Metromix LLC. --Erik Sass
