CBS' 'CSI' Helps Early Sweeps Ratings

The second Monday of the November sweeps found CBS closing in on ABC's usual dominant lead on that night.

CBS edged up to a 4.3 rating/10 share on Monday from a 4.1/10 the week before, thanks to week-to-week improvements with "CSI: Miami" (up 4.7/12 from a 4.3/11); "Rules of Engagement" (4.3/10 from a 4.0/9); "Big Bang Theory" (3.8/9); and "Two and a Half Men" (5.0/11 from a 4.9/11). Only "How I Met Your Mother" slipped a bit down to a 3.3/9 from a 3.4/9).

ABC stayed on pace with its Monday night-leading "Dancing with the Stars," which improved to a 5.2/13 from a 4.9/12 a week before. "Samantha Who" continued its strong rookie season with another 4.3/10--the same as a week before. ABC ended the night the same way as a week ago, at a 4.4/11.

Good news for NBC--at least on the "Heroes" front. Its centerpiece 9 p.m. show inched up 6% to a 5.2/12, matching the ratings of "Dancing with the Stars" for the first time in a long while. But NBC suffered at 8 p.m. with "Chuck," down to a 3.0/7 from a 3.2/8. At 10 p.m., "Journeyman" picked up some viewers--up to a 2.4/6 from a 2.1/5 the week before.

Fox hit the skeds this Monday--down from an average 3.4/8 from a 2.3/6 the week before. Instead of double-running "Prison Break" (an original and a repeat), Fox decided this Monday to bring back an original episode of "K-Ville" along with an new "Prison Break." While "Break" did its typical 3.1/8, "K-Ville" went to a low 1.6/4.

The CW earned its steady 1.0/2 rating on Monday with its four comedies. MyNetworkTV came in at a 0.5/1 for the night.
