Mag Bag: Alimonti Named 'Selecciones' Publisher

Alimonti Named 'Selecciones' Publisher

The Reader's Digest Association has named Elaine Alimonti publisher of Selecciones, a Spanish-language magazine available in 20 countries, including the United States, elevating her from her previous role as associate publisher. She is replacing Elizabeth Bradley, who is leaving the company.

Before joining RDA in 2007, Alimonti was the associate publisher of Conde Nast's Cookie, helping launch the magazine in 2005. Eva Dillon, RDA president, remarked: "Selecciones readers have demonstrated extreme loyalty to the brand. The U.S. Hispanic population is currently the fastest-growing minority group in the country, and with Elaine at the helm, we look forward to strengthening our position serving this vital community."

Selecciones has a circulation of 375,000 and a readership of 2.6 million, according to RDA. The changes at Selecciones follow a number of organizational changes at RDA, beginning with the appointment of Mary Berner as president and CEO. Berner was named to succeed Eric Schrier, who left the company when it was acquired by Ripplewood Holdings, a private-equity firm.
