Tyson Revamps Antibiotic-Free Chicken Ads

  • January 28, 2008
Tyson Foods is revamping ads for its antibiotic-free chicken products after rivals alleged false and misleading advertising, The Wall Street Journal reported on Saturday.

In federal court filings, the company brushed off competitors' allegations and said it had already independently changed the advertising, said the paper.

Tyson says no ads were approved to run after Jan. 20, but competitors claimed they saw the ads on the air after that date.

The paper called it the latest setback for the Arkansas-based chicken producer, which has been touting its line of antibiotic-free chicken as part of a $70 million advertising campaign.
