New HBO Prez: Sue Naegle

HBO has found its next senior programming executive: United Talent Agency's Sue Naegle.

Naegle will have the position of president of HBO Entertainment. In April, Carolyn Strauss, president of HBO Entertainment, resigned. Strauss had brought on many of HBO's high-profile programs in recent years.

Naegle was co-head of the television department at United Talent Agency, responsible for packaging HBO series including "Six Feet Under" and "True Blood." She also worked on ABC's "Men in Trees," Fox's "The Bernie Mac Show," CW's "Aliens in America" and CBS' "Swingtown."

HBO has been under increased pressure to find another major show after its big series "The Sopranos" went off the air last year. It has had indifferent results from "Tell Me That You Love Me" and "John From Cincinnati." Last year, HBO's CEO Chris Albrecht left the company as well, after a domestic incident with his then-girlfriend.

HBO restructured after Albrecht's departure. Bill Nelson was named CEO, with Richard Plepler promoted to co-president of programming for HBO. Michael Lombardo was named president of the programming group and West Coast operations.
