Jung Out At Kellogg

  • Ad Age, Monday, April 14, 2008 11 AM

Andy Jung, Kellogg's senior director of media-advertising services, is leaving the company after 11 years, with his position eliminated and duties divided among marketing vice presidents in the company's business units. "We want to thank him very much for his 11 years of contribution and service to the company," says a spokeswoman, adding that the move is a "strategic decision" and is unrelated to his job performance.

As a result of his departure, Kim Miller, vice president marketing for morning foods, Jim Poppens, vice president marketing for frozen foods, and Michael Allen, senior vice president, marketing for snacks, will all take on additional responsibilities.

Kellogg's advertising budget passed the $1 billion mark in 2007 and it credits that for helping it to maintain pricing power in a difficult commodity environment. Jung is widely credited with evolving the Special K Challenge into a full-scale online community and was a strong proponent of digital and brand integration.
