Batter Up: OnSite Buys Sports-Oriented Net

screengrabOnSite Network, which operates an out-of-home network in restaurant chains and sports bars, has acquired the owner of a place-based network specializing in sports content.

The company did not release terms of the acquisition of Nevada New Media, which operates the Boondoggle Sports Network.

OnSite will now be in 130 locations, and plans to add 70 more sports bars and restaurants this quarter. OnSite is in chains such as T.G.I. Friday's and Wichita, Kan.-based Fox & Hound. It's also at locales in the top-three DMAs: New York, Los Angeles and Chicago.

Boondoggle offers interactive fantasy sports games and sports trivia, and will take on the ad inventory OnSite offers, known as a "Wrap," where a banner runs along the bottom of the screen and a tower on the right.
