ScanScout Partners With PointRoll On Rich Media

Waikit Lau of ScanScoutIn-stream video ad network ScanScout today is expected to announce a partnership with rich-media developer PointRoll to provide clients with new creative units, including interactive features like dynamic data, geotargeting, and RSS feeds.

"Marketers are looking for increased flexibility and more of a solution-orientation approach as they design their campaigns," said Waikit Lau, ScanScout's co-founder and CEO. "This relationship gives our agency partners a tremendous advantage beyond the standard video network or the standard rich-media buy."

A wholly owned subsidiary of Gannett Co., PointRoll presently serves some 70 billion rich media impressions annually.

According to Forrester, in-stream video rose 100% in 2007, with more than 85 billion impressions.

This marks just the latest deal for ScanScout, which has racked up a number of partnerships in recent months.

In April, the company reached a distribution deal with widget company Clearspring Technologies, which gave advertisers within the ScanScout network access to broad viral distribution across some 25 social platforms, including MySpace, Facebook, Google, and Yahoo.

Also in April, ScanScout became the exclusive domestic provider of in-stream video ads for Web video network Broadband Enterprises. The deal expanded ScanScout's network five to seven times, to roughly about a billion monthly streams in the U.S., according to the company.

This year, ScanScout has served more than a billion ad impressions.
