Trevor M. Creed, famed Chrysler automotive design chief, is leaving the company after 23 years. Creed, SVP/Design, plans to retire by month's end.

Creed had a hand in designing hot sellers like the PT Cruiser, Chrysler 300C and Dodge Ram, as well as muscle cars like the Dodge Viper and the retro Plymouth Prowler. He was also involved in the development of the new Dodge Challenger. Creed came to Chrysler in the mid 1980's from Ford Motor, where he served as Director of Interior Design.

The company says Ralph V. Gilles will take over in September as VP/Design. Also, the Chrysler Design Office will now report to Frank O. Klegon, EVP/ Product Development.

Gilles, who joined Chrysler in 1992, was most recently VP, Jeep Truck and Advance Interior Design.--Karl Greenberg
