GM To Stream Auto Tech Conference

  • August 20, 2008
General Motors will borrow a page from the TED Conference when it runs a full-day program on September 16 about future automotive technology to be streamed on GMNext.com in real time. The effort, "GM Next Day," is the next chapter of GM's "GM Next" global corporate program to tout the company's advanced auto technology programs. The effort, broadcast from GM corporate headquarters in Detroit, will comprise a series of events and conferences about next-generation vehicles and technology.

The company will webcast both from GM's Renaissance Center headquarters and from GM's operations in Russelsheim, Germany; Shanghai, China; Mexico City, Mexico and Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Activities include GM executives participating in a live chat within the GMnext.com chat room; and a roundtable discussion with industry pundits called "The Future of Transportation: The Next 100 Years" that will also stream live on GMnext.com. Visitors to the site will be able to ask questions in real time. --Karl Greenberg
