Fox's 'Fringe' Gets A Mid-Season 'Idol' Boost

One of TV's best marketing tools continues to be the biggest network TV show: "American Idol."

In that light, Fox will use the new season of "Idol" to kick up even better ratings for its already successful new drama, "Fringe," when it follows "Idol" starting on Tuesday, January 20 at 9 p.m.

"Fringe" already had a nice start this season following "House" on Tuesdays.

As part of Fox's mid-season program shuffling, "House" will move to Mondays at 8 p.m. on January 19, which will start off the night for "24" at 9 p.m. in its regularly scheduled time period. "24" will have its season premiere span across two nights the week before--Sunday, January 11 and Monday, January 12.

"American Idol" will have two two-hour season premieres on Tuesday, January 13 and Wednesday, January 14 before it settles into its regular hour-long Tuesday 8 p.m. and Wednesday 8 p.m. shows.

Also getting the benefit of a big "Idol" lead-in will be new drama "Lie To Me," which starts up Wednesday January 21, at 9 p.m.

"Bones" moves to Thursdays at 8 p.m., starting January 19. "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles" goes to Fridays at 8 p.m. starting on February 13. That same day, Fox will premiere Joss Whedon's new drama "Dollhouse" at 9 p.m.

"Hole in The Wall" will move to the Sunday evening lineup at 7 p.m.
