Motorcycle Council Bows Social Web Site

The Motorcycle Industry Council has launched a social networking Web site, RockMoto (www.rockmoto.com), with backing from Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki and Suzuki.

The site, via Orange County, Calif.-based Trinet Internet Solutions, includes a music player via a partnership with Pandora, wherein users can submit their own playlists and duplicate it on their online profile.

The site also has an online matchmaker service called MotoMatch, pairing riders with others who have similar riding interests, a bike comparison tool that recommends bikes based on a user's style, riding ability and the types of riding they'd like to do, and a video section hosting both weekly uploads of videos featuring motorcyclist celebrities and community-member videos.--Karl Greenberg
