The Nielsen//NetRatings Internet ratings report for the week ending June 25 shows that WWFKingOfTheRing.com jumped 64% in online traffic this past week. The World Wrestling Federation Championship was up for grabs during its King of the Ring tournament on June 25, and Internet users at-home went online to keep track of their favorite wrestlers. Over 48% of the site's audience consisted of teenagers between the ages of twelve and seventeen.

“Sites like WWFKingOfTheRing.com demonstrate how streaming consumption is spreading its reach into demographics both younger and older than early adopters,” said Timothy Sean Kelly, Director of Internet Media Strategies at NetRatings. “This broadening of reach suggests that at some point within the next several years, streaming content will begin to compete with longer-established mass media (print, radio, and television) to deliver all segments of the general population.”

NetRatings also found that as summer swings into full gear, Internet users in the workplace are making their vacation plans online. Some travel-related sites indicated significant growth in traffic during the past week, as 51% more Internet users in the workplace visited USAirways.com. Expedia.com's online traffic jumped 20% as the site garnered 275,400 more unique visitors during the week ending June 25 as compared to the week prior. (See table below)
