  • January 23, 2009
Autonomy has entered into an agreement to acquire content management software provider Interwoven for $775 million, or a cash price of $16.20 per share.

The combined companies aim to redefine how global 2000 corporations, law firms and government regulators discover, analyze and manage data. Both companies expect the transaction to close by June 2009.

Based on acquisitions, the U.K.-based Autonomy has managed to gain a foothold in the U.S. market. The company said the acquisition accelerates the pace. Interwoven serves thousands of U.S. companies including adidas, Cisco, Citi, Delta Air Lines, FedEx, Hilton Hotels, Microsoft and Shell.--Laurie Sullivan
