Verizon Adds Full-Length ABC Episodes

  • January 26, 2009
Verizon Wireless has added full-length episodes of ABC prime-time programming through a new deal with the Disney/ABC Television Group.

The move builds on the short-form programming that Verizon already offers from ABC and ESPN. The agreement includes shows such as "Desperate Housewives," "Grey's Anatomy," "Lost," "Ugly Betty" and "Nightline," as well as the Disney Channel's "Hannah Montana," "The Suite Life on Deck" and "Phineas and Ferb."

Episodes will be available on V Cast the day after airing on TV. Expanded programming and short news clips from ESPN will also be included under the pact. A recent study by Nielsen Mobile indicated that mobile video subscription services such as V Cast increased to only 7.3% of all subscribers in the last year.--Mark Walsh
