Seth Green On Board As Butterfinger 'Mouthpiece'

Butterfinger continues to reveal components of its comedy-focused marketing plan. In the latest development, the brand has announced a new spokesperson: actor, producer, director and writer Seth Green.
Green is Butterfinger's first "mouthpiece" (the brand's own term for the job) in a decade, since Bart Simpson.
In late July, the Nestlé candy revived the tagline made famous by Simpson, "Nobody's gonna lay a finger on my Butterfinger," as part of its new national TV campaign.
At the same time, it launched an online contest soliciting videos demonstrating "how far you would go to protect Your Butterfinger" (located at ProtectYourButterfingerBar.com). The winner, to be chosen by consumer voting, will receive $25,000 and may see his/her video aired as a national 15-second commercial.
Last month, Butterfinger announced a four-month, multiplatform deal with The Improv, through the branded entertainment division of Levity Entertainment Group, spanning 28 nationwide Improv and Funny Bone clubs. That effort encompasses a sweepstakes, a branded video featuring name comedians, online and social media elements, and on-site collateral materials.
Green, featured in the Austin Powers franchise and many other comedy films, received Emmy nominations in the voiceover and animated production categories this year for the Cartoon Network's Adult Swim hit "Robot Chicken." Green is executive producer, writer and director for that show, in addition to providing voices for hundreds of characters. He also supplies the voice of "Chris Griffin" on Fox's animated "Family Guy," and is executive producing and voicing a character for "Titan Maximum," which debuts Sept. 27. His next film, with Robin Williams and John Travolta, is Disney's "Old Dogs, opening Nov. 25.
