General Motors says its crossover vehicles are pulling in new customers and retaining old ones.

The company says nearly two out of three buyers of the Chevrolet Equinox and Traverse crossovers have traded in non-Chevrolet vehicles so far this year and that nearly half of buyers traded in a non-GM vehicle.

Also, per GM, Cadillac, Buick, and GMC trade-ins account for only 9% of purchases for both vehicles.

The automaker says Chevrolet sold over 120,000 Equinox and Traverse models during the first six months this year, which GM said is an 80% increase calendar-year-to-date.
