CBS: 'Men' OK In Repeats, But Net Loses Monday Edge

Two-and-Half-Men

What's left for "Two and a Half Men" this year? A look at current repeats of the show -- which will continue for the rest of this year -- may kick it up about 10% to 15%.

Brad Adgate, senior vice president and corporate research director for Horizon Media, believes the firing of Charlie Sheen from "Two and a Half Men" will bring a few more viewers into the tent -- as curiosity seekers.

"The show repeats well," says Adgate. "I would expect it will be in the 11 million to 12 million audience range -- somewhere between original telecasts of CBS, 14-plus million, and what it averages in syndication, slightly under 10 million."

On Monday night, "Two and a Half Men" pulled in 10.1 million overall viewers and a 2.8 rating/8 share among 18-49 viewers, down 14% in 18-49 ratings from last week's rerun. For the night, CBS earned a 2.3 rating/6 share, down from its 2.8 rating a week ago. Fox was No. 1 on the most recent Monday -- at 3.0/8; ABC was next at a 2.5/7.

CBS typically wins Monday, but without new "Men" episodes, this will be hard for the rest of the year. It was the second week in a row that CBS found itself in third place. Last week, ABC was at a 3.2 rating; Fox was at a 3.0; and CBS earned a 2.8.

To be fair, in this March period -- now out of February sweeps -- networks are still working various combination of originals and repeats, making direct comparisons difficult.

The two big shows of the night continue to be Fox's "House" (a 3.9/11) and ABC's "The Bachelor" (a 3.1/8). New shows on the night are still looking to find their way. At 9 p.m., Fox's "Chicago Code" was at a 2.1/6, down a bit from a 2.2.

At 10 p.m., NBC's "Harry's Law" continues to muddle along against repeats of ABC's "Castle" and CBS' "Hawaii 5-0" with a 1.8/5, the same numbers it earned a week before.
