Nintendo Moves Into Connected Gaming And Social Services

Nintendo outlined services for its content network, Miiverse, and Wii U game console supporting a new social strategy for the company. Nintendo President Satoru Iwata described the platform and console in a webcast. The Wii U will have a Web browser. It will connect players through "Social Windows," similar to Microsoft's Xbox Live, within the same room or in scattered physical locations. The new controller has a touch sensitive pad allowing players to draw with a touch-sensitive pen.
