Samsung Intros Cloud Gaming

  • June 5, 2012

Samsung is getting into the gaming world. At the E3 Expo this week, Samsung unveiled its “Samsung Cloud Gaming” product, which will stream a mix of games directly to owners of 2012 Samsung 7000 series (and higher) Smart TVs.

The service, which will begin beta testing soon, will give consumers the ability to play games without the need for a console or additional devices. The service will be available to owners of 2012 Samsung LED 700 series and up televisions through its Smart Hub. Consumers will have the ability to try games and only purchase the ones they want.

“Samsung is excited to deliver this revolutionary gaming experience that takes advantage of all the benefits of cloud-computing, all on the central screen of the home—Samsung Smart TV,” said Kyung-shik Lee, Vice President, Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics, in a statement.
