International Olympic Committee Launches Ad
A new TV spot from the International Olympic Committee (IOC), via Cole & Weber United mixes user-generated content with Olympians. The spot draws from amateur video submissions across 175 countries to create a video mosaic of current Olympians -- including Michael Phelps, Yelena Isinbayeva and Usain Bolt.
The ad comprises user-generated content arranged in a mosaic style. It extends the IOC's platform of “Show Your Best” and its goal of reconnecting youth with excellence, friendship and respect. A global social campaign, “Show Your Best” encouraged people from all around the world to demonstrate their personal best with the chance to win a trip to the Olympic Games and appear in the TV spot.
Users uploaded videos to Olympic.org/showyourbest showcasing their talents. The Olympic athletes picked the ones that inspired them the most. Those were put in the ad.
The spot will air on NBC (in the U.S.), CTV (Canada), Foxtel and 9 Network (Australia), Rede Record (Brazil), EuroSport, RAI and SkyItalia (Italy), ZDF (Germany) and ESPN Latin America. It will also be broadcast before the opening ceremonies, Olympic events and at LiveSites in the UK. It will also appear on IOC's YouTube channel and other social media sites.
