ANA Names Nominees For Multicultural Excellence
General Motors and its agency LatinWorks, Kraft Foods North America and Mcgarry Bowen, and XOOM with the agency Dieste are nominees for the Association
of National Advertisers (ANA) Multicultural Excellence Awards for the Hispanic.
That's one of nine categories for which the ANA is awarding companies for the best multicultural advertising campaigns done between June 2011 and June 2012.
The 2012 grand prize winner in each category to be announced at a ceremony during ANA’s 14th Annual Multicultural Marketing & Diversity Conference in Miami, Oct. 28-30.
Here's the finalist breakdown:
For African-American-directed campaigns the finalists are AT&T and its agency One Solution, Chrysler Group and Global Hue, and Ford Motor and UniWorld.
In advertising toward the Asian-American market, Toyota Motor Sales and its Asian-American agency interTrend Communications; Verizon Wireless with AdAsia Communications, Inc.; and Western Union with New A are finalists.
For multi-cultural digital efforts Allstate Insurance Company with Leo Burnett; AT&T Mobility and interTrend Communications; and Heineken with The Vidal Partnership lead the category
For the General Market Category General Motors and LatinWorks; Muse Communications; and Staples with McCann New York lead.
Allstate Insurance Company and Leo Burnett; K-Y Brand and Target 10; and Pernod Ricard USA with SPI Marketing are finalists in LGBT
In the area of print advertising the Marine Corps Recruiting Command and UniWorld Group; The Clorox Company with Alma DDB; and Time Warner Cable and Castells & Asociados are finalists.
McDonald's Corp. and Alma DDB, and Verizon Wireless with GlobalHue are the finalists in the radio category. In "Significant Results," L'Oreal U.S.A. and McCann New York; Rosetta Stone with Alma DDB; and State Farm with Alma DDB are finalists.
The ANA says the awards are sponsored and judged by the ANA Multicultural Marketing & Diversity Committee, whose mission is to educate and inform members about key multicultural topics and issues that are of concern to marketers and diversity leaders. A portion of the proceeds collected from the awards’ submission fees will be used to help fund scholarships for multicultural students who plan to pursue careers in marketing.
