London City Hall has committed to investing £7 million in grass-roots projects in the capital over the next two years as part of the Mayor's Sports Legacy Program. The city, to raise that cash, has approached UK-based sponsors of London 2012: Lloyds TSB, Cadbury, Adidas and BT, with requests for funding of between £500,000 and £1 million. Sources say the brands are balking on the backing.
