Aegis Integrates Spain's Ymedia, Exactly Why Isn't Clear

Dentsu's Aegis Media unit this morning announced a deal to “integrate” independent Spanish agency Ymedia, including its minority holding in digital indie Wink TTD. Terms of the deal were not disclosed, and it was not clear from the announcement what the holding structure would be following the deal, but Aegis referred to Ymedia as “100% independent,” and said it will “continue to develop their huge potential with the backing and support of a network like Aegis Media."

Ymedia's services include research, strategy, media planning and buying, brand content creation, direct response and modeling services.

“Ymedia will continue to operate independently and will maintain its management team, identity, and business philosophy, all of which have led to this agency's notable success story in the Spanish advertising industry,” Aegis said, noting that the current management team will remain in place, including CEO Jaime López-Francos, CFO Sergio Martínez and Non-Executive Chairman José María Casero.

Casero stated the deal would enable the seven-year-old shop to retain its culture “whilst benefiting from the international support provided by Aegis.”
