McCann Worldgroup has promoted Devika Bulchandani to president of McCann XBC, the dedicated agency unit that services the MasterCard account. She succeeds Joyce King Thomas, who has been named chairman of the XBC operation.
McCann XBC was formed in 2012 and works alongside additional McCann Worldgroup companies such as MRM//McCann and Interpublic agencies such as R/GA and Octagon to service the account.
Bulchandani -- who has served as managing director of global strategy at McCann and chief strategy officer of McCann XBC -- takes on the new role effective immediately, the agency said.
“Devika has been invaluable in guiding the strategic vision for our biggest clients and most recently evolving MasterCard's strategic vision,” said McCann Worldgroup President Luca Lindner. “She will now apply her considerable skills toward running the business around the world.”
Lindner said that Bulchandani is tasked in part with bringing “the entire XBC team that spans partner agencies McCann, R/GA, Octagon and MRM//McCann, even more closely together, all over the world, to ensure that the global Priceless platform works in new and ever more relevant ways.”
Bulchandani was part of the McCann XBC leadership team at its launch, along with King Thomas. She has been with
McCann since 1997. She was promoted to chief strategy officer of McCann New York in 2005.
King Thomas, who first joined McCann New York in 1995, served as chief creative officer of McCann New York from 2004 through 2010.
