VML Promotes Eric Campbell To President

Digital agency VML, part of WPP’s Young & Rubicam Group, has appointed Eric Campbell as president, effective immediately. He succeeds Jon Cook, who has been president of the agency since 2007 and CEO since 2011. Campbell will report to Cook who will continue to lead the agency as Global CEO.

The agency said that Campbell’s promotion will help it manage rapid growth accomplished over the past three years.

As VML’s president, Campbell will be responsible for the shop’s business planning and strategic leadership across the agency’s offices, a remit designed to achieve continued organic growth across the current client base and new business efforts.

Campbell was previously Chief Business Officer for VML; he joined the agency in 1999. I’m thrilled to have him take on the presidency role with a focus on the continued evolution of our growth and offerings.

Added Campbell: “We’ve expanded geographically; more importantly, we’ve increased our talent and capability. I’m committed to ensuring our clients benefit from our growth, innovations and the value a fully connected VML delivers.”

The agency noted that Cook will focus on “future-proofing VML’s vision to ensure the global network is positioned to quickly adapt to the ever-changing communications landscape.”  He will also continue to lead the agency’s ongoing global expansion efforts and global client partner engagements.
