AKQA Flies Away With Delta Digital AOR

Delta Air Lines has selected WPP’s AKQA its new global Digital Agency of Record, following a competitive review, the companies confirmed Friday. The airline previously worked with Publicis Groupe’s Razorfish.

AKQA will help create and manage digital experiences along the entire digital travel journey for Delta customers, including the carrier’s flagship Web site delta.com.

The agency was already a Delta roster shop. Since 2010, AKQA has served as Delta’s Mobile Agency of Record, responsible for the creation of the Fly Delta suite of mobile applications, the redesign of Delta’s self-service airport kiosk, its boarding passes, gate information displays and recently updated Wi-Fi portal, which includes access to Delta Studio streaming entertainment.

“Our partnership with Delta is a true collaboration, creating work that’s admired by the industry and loved by travelers worldwide,” said Ajaz Ahmed, CEO of AKQA. “We are delighted to build on these strong foundations with new momentum to deliver the ultimate digital experience that will further extend Delta’s lead.”
