'Idol' Returns To High Ratings, CBS' 'Price' Is Right

Fox may have righted its ship somewhat on Wednesday with "American Idol," which returned to double-digit ratings after weeks of low numbers.

"Idol" grabbed a Nielsen preliminary 10.5 rating/27 share among adult 18-49 viewers. This was the same rating the show got a year ago for a similar episode. Fox also witnessed a slight increase for its "Bones" drama, moving to a 3.4/11 among 18-49 viewers.

CBS was also part of the Wednesday story--with the final airing of the game show "The Price is Right." The "Price is Right Million Dollar Spectacular," hosted by Bob Barker, grabbed a strong 3.5/11 in 18-49 viewers. That tied it with "Bones" for 18-49 viewers for the time period. "Price" won the hour in adults 25-54 and total viewers.

ABC was farther down the pack, due to its poor-performing comedies. "According to Jim" took in a 1.9/6 and "Notes From the Underbelly," a 1.8/5. But the network's venerable "Lost" salvaged the night with a 5.1/13.

NBC also had a quiet night. The "Crossing Jordan" series finale earned a 1.7/4; "Medium" was medium at a 2.6/7--at the same level as its recent performances.

CW's "America's Next Top Model" finale had a healthy 2.9/9, up a bit against the season finale of a year ago. It also won the 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. hour among adults 18-34 with a 3.4/12.

Overall, 18-49 averages for the night: Fox, 7.0/20; CBS, 3.7/10; ABC, 2.9/8; NBC and CW, 2.0/6; Univision, 1.9/5.
