Results of a national study conducted among 300 self-reported Democrats reveal that support for Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., increased slightly after respondents viewed her new
advertisement.
The communications research study was conducted by HCD Research and the Muhlenberg College Institute of Public Opinion Aug. 15 -16 to obtain Americans' views of an ad
featuring Clinton in which she talks about health care and other issues.
Among the study findings:
- Prior to viewing the advertisement more than half of the responders (51%),
reported that they would vote for Clinton if the election was held today, compared to 19%, who indicated that they would vote for Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., and 19% who reported that they were
undecided.
- After viewing the advertisement, support for Clinton increased and support for Obama decreased, with 57% of responders indicating that they would vote for Clinton and 16%
reporting that they would vote for Obama.
