I personally dislike in-text ads. They are intrusive and often completely irrelevant to the content in which they are placed. If I as a PR or marketing consultant had worked to get editorial coverage
of my company or a new product/service, I would be incensed to have an in-text ad for a competitor or other out-of-context advertiser placed in that article. I see this frequently in in-text ads. The
worst are the ones using Ajax, in which a balloon ad pops up when you mouse over a keyword in the article. I hope this is a short-lived and passing ad vehicle.
