Martha Stewart Living Folds Print Edition, Probably Not

Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia Tuesday reported healthy fourth quarter and year-end 2007 earnings, and announced the acquisition of celebrity chef Emeril Lagasse's brands, as well as a 40% stake in WeddingWire.com, but some subscribers recently received the shocking news that the company has folded flagship publication Martha Stewart Living.

At least that's what a letter from Circulation Director Rich Fontaine informed some subscribers of. The letter, a copy of which was supplied to MediaDailyNews, reads: "We regret to inform you that the Martha Stewart Living has ceased publication with the September/October issue. However, you can still get all this information online for free: visit http://www.themarthablog.com to continue to get up close and personal information from Martha."

The letter, an obvious error meant to inform readers about the demise of the print edition of another Martha Stewart publication - presumably Blueprint, which shuttered its print edition with its January/February issue - goes on to inform subscribers that the remainder of their subscriptions to Martha Stewart Living would be fulfilled with issues of Martha Stewart Living.

A Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia spokesperson did not comment.
