ABC's 'Mole' Hides From Ratings

ABC's The MoleA new version of "The Mole" kept ABC mostly underground on Monday night.

The 2008 version of the reality show--which was around when ABC wasn't a top-rated network some four years ago--earned a feeble Nielsen preliminary 1.9 rating among 18-49 viewers, coming in at third place in the 10 p.m. time slot.

The show was a full rating point below NBC's 2.9 rating for the fifth game of the Stanley Cup finals, which won the time period, and 0.7 of a rating point behind the 2.6 rating for a repeat of "CSI: Miami" on CBS.

"The Mole" couldn't keep all the viewers from the second hour of ABC's "The Bachelorette," which posted a 2.4 rating at 9 p.m.

The 9 p.m. time slot was won by Fox with a 3.0 for a repeat of "House." CBS was right behind Fox with a 2.9 for repeats of "Two and a Half Men" and "Rules of Engagement." NBC was third with 2.5 for Stanley Cup hockey, with "The Bachelorette" following.

It was NBC's consistency on the night, starting with a 2.2 rating during the 8 p.m. hour with the Stanley Cup, that gave it a tie for first place with CBS among 18-49 viewers, with a 2.5 rating/7 share.

Fox was next at a 2.4/7--mostly thanks to a repeat of "House," which was the top-rated show of the night.

ABC was in fourth place with a 2.1/6. Then came Univision at 1.6/5, with its top show coming from a 1.8 for "Fuego en la Sangre" at 9 p.m. CW was sixth at 0.6/2, as a result of repeats of "Gossip Girl" (0.6) and "One Tree Hill" (0.5).
