MediaPost Social Insider columnist Cathy Taylor has it, and used it to kick off an afternoon session of OMMA Publishing panel themed “Can Video Be Monetized.â€
“The answer is yes. It can be monetized on TV,†Taylor quipped.
Citing the fact that the major broadcast networks have once again reaped $9 billion in upfront advertising sales, and contrasting that to the fact that YouTube, “can't be arrested when it comes to monetizing online video,†Taylor made a pretty good case for the old television advertising model.
Taylor, by the way, will be hosting MediaPost's OMMA Social conference next Monday in New York. Let's hope YouTube isn't there.
