Local.com Shows Increased Traffic, Revenues In Q2

  • August 6, 2008
Local.com reported its second-quarter financial results, showing increased traffic, revenues and visitor monetization year-over-year, as well as from the previous quarter. Revenue was $9.6 million--up 9% from the previous quarter--and 89% from the second quarter of 2007.

"Local.com had another great quarter, materially exceeding prior guidance," said Heath Clarke, chairman and CEO of the Irvine, Calif.-based local search and advertising company, in a statement. "This was driven in part by significant growth in both organic traffic and improved monetization."

Traffic across local.com's network (including to the core site itself) hit 48 million monthly unique visitors in the second quarter-2008, up from 27 million monthly uniques in the first quarter of 2007. The local search and advertising network also monetized those visitors better, as revenue-per-thousand visitors (RKV) hit $257, up 66% year-over-year. --Tameka Kee
