'Marie Claire,' Style Net Partner For Reality TV

MarieClaireIt's a meeting of the fashion minds. It's a bit like "The Devil Wears Prada"--only on TV and without Hollywood stars.

The Style Network and the U.S. edition of Marie Claire will partner to create "Running in Heels," a new reality docu-series that debuts in March.

The "docu" part of the concept: The weekly series will offer a behind-the-scenes look at the magazine's editors and writers at work and home. "Heels" will showcase the demands of 24/7 fashion journalism, from celebrity cover shoots to Fashion Week events. To underscore the "reality" aspect, it follows the private lives of staffers who inhabit a cutthroat world.

Each week, "Running in Heels" will pursue a different Marie Claire staffer, from senior-level personnel to interns. Viewers will watch them execute assignments and cope with success and failure, revealing much of the grit behind the glamour.

Furthermore, to get an inside look at interns, private video confessionals will reveal how future fashionistas cope with their jobs, superiors and each other. Joanna Coles, editor in chief, Marie Claire, promises "lots of drama" to interest audiences.

"Style is thrilled to immerse viewers in the fast-paced, high-gloss world of Marie Claire, and offer them a dynamic look at the competitive magazine industry," says Salaam Coleman Smith, executive vice president, The Style Network.
