Toshiba and Intel are teaming up on another social film project, this time starring Topher Grace, Mary Elizabeth Winstead and an unknown from the general public
The new project, called “The Beauty Inside,” follows the store of Alex, a 20-something young man, who wakes up every day completely different on the outside (with a new face and body), but the same on the inside. Each sequence shows everyday life challenges such as where he’ll work, what he’ll encounter through the day and romantic twists. (Throughout the film, Alex will use a Toshiba ultrabook to document the trials and tribulations of the day.) The story will unfold in weekly installments beginning August 16, running for six weeks.
Adding another level of interaction to the project, Toshiba and Intel are launching an online casting call via Facebook, giving people the chance to audition to play one of Alex’s different personas in upcoming films.
“As we usher in a new era of computing, we are excited to continue to expand the entertainment computing experience on Intel-inspired Ultrabook devices,” said Johan Jervoe, vice president partner marketing, Intel, in a release. “This global, social film is proof that the right technology can blend two major forms of entertainment and give a global audience the opportunity to be engaged and have a chance to play a role in a blockbuster-style Hollywood movie.”
