IPG
Mediabrands in the UK is launching a new program designed to give aspiring media professionals a well-schooled start. The “Graduate Scheme” kicks off in September 2013 and will offer up to
10 candidates placement in a rigorous 12-month program that provides exposure to a number of the company’s varied operations, including UM, Initiative, Mediabrands Analytics, Reprise, Cadreon
among others.
Given the greater complexity and expanding array of media platforms in the digital age, many ad shops are boosting the level of training they offer new and existing
employees, both as recruitment tools and as ways to keep current staff up to date.
Accepted applicants in the new Mediabrands UK program will be placed on one of two work tracks,
including one that focuses on planning and buying. The other exposes trainees to the company’s search, performance marketing, ad operations and analytics fields.
“The IPG
Mediabrands Graduate Scheme is a chance to become part of a…media network which employs 6,700 diverse specialists in 127 countries,” stated Soraya Pugh, UK Head of Talent IPG Mediabrands.
“The scheme offers passionate, creative and ambitious graduates a unique experience of the complex world of media.”
Andy Jones, CEO, UM London stated: “At UM, in
keeping with our ‘Curiosity Works’ approach, we employ a wide range of talents from all walks of life.” The new program he said “will help us to attract the most imaginative
and sharpest minds out there, and give them the best possible introduction to everything that we do.”
