NBCU Taps Murphy As Top Ad Exec For E!, Esquire Network

NBCUniversal has a new head advertising executive for its E! and new Esquire Network -- Maureen Murphy.

A 13-year NBC executive, Murphy will have the title of senior vice president of advertising sales for E! and Esquire network. She will report to Laura Molen, executive vice president of cable advertising sales and NBCUniversal.

Esquire Network, a partnership of NBCU and Hearst Magazines, will launch this summer -- a bit delayed from its previous April start date, which will give the network time to debut with five original series, including NBC network summer series "American Ninja Warrior." The broader-based male-focused network is transforming from the G4 network, the videogame/tech oriented channel.

For the last three years, Murphy had been NBCU vice president of daytime, late night and prime-time specials sales.

Before that, she was vice president and branded entertainment and marketing for NBC Entertainment between 2006 and 2010, responsible for sales marketing, in-show integrations, custom content and digital advertising sales for all NBC Entertainment properties.

Murphy also was an account sales executive sales roles at NBC Primetime, Sports & Olympics, Network News and MSNBC. She also held various sales positions at ABC Radio Networks.
