Set-top box maker Roku has named Matthew Anderson its first-ever chief marketing officer.
For the past year, Anderson, a former group director of strategy and corporate affairs
at News Corp., has served as a strategic advisor to the company, offering insights on corporate strategy and development. In his new role, Anderson will be responsible for global marketing and
communication across the company’s three business units: device sales, content and service and OEM partnerships.
“The explosive growth of streaming is the most exciting
trend in media and Roku is well-known for pioneering the streaming experience,” Anderson said in a statement. “I have enjoyed working closely with the Roku team and relish the opportunity
to connect millions of new customers with Roku's ingeniously easy way of making great entertainment instantly available on TV.”
