Former Arnold NY President Power Joins JWT

Lynn Power, the former President of Arnold New York has joined WPP’s JWT New York as Managing Director. Power will jointly run JWT New York with Claire Capeci who has been a Managing Director  there since late last year.

JWT is adding senior management in New York in part to fill the gap left by the departing Peter Sherman, who oversaw that office along with the agency’s other North American outposts as NA CEO. Sherman is returning to Omnicom as an executive vice president where he’ll be leading a series of “major initiatives,” according to the holding company.

A 25-year agency veteran, Power oversaw Arnold New York for five years until resigning last summer. During her tenure at Arnold she’s credited with leading a number of new business wins including 23andMe, Alberto Culver, Del Monte, Kohler and Sanofi. Previously, she held roles at BBDO, Grey New York and Ogilvy & Mather.

Power and Capeci will be responsible for driving the overall strategic direction and growth of the New York office, as well as managing client relationships. Howard Courtemanche, who  runs  the agency’s healthcare practice, which is based at JWT New York, will continue in his role as CEO of JWT Health. Like Lynn and Capeci, he will report to Gustavo Martinez, Global President of JWT Worldwide, who is set to succeed Bob Jeffrey as the shop’s Global CEO in 2015.

“Lynn brings a wealth of experience and leadership to JWT New York,” said Martinez. “She will be a true business partner to our clients, and I am delighted to have a team of strong, brilliant women leading our flagship office.”
