BPN, the IPG Mediabrands media shop, has been selected as the media agency of record of Famosa Toys in the U.S., effective immediately, per the client and agency.
As part of the assignment, BPN will handle strategic planning and buying, for the toy manufacturer. The account will be led from BPN’s New York office.
BPN will work with Famosa on two of its signature doll brands, Pinypon and Nenuco, as well as the Fall 2014 launch of Dareway, a Segway-like upright riding vehicle.
Famosa Toys opened its North America operations in 2011, adding to its existing operations in Asia, Europe and Latin America. In the U.S. it spent $783,000 on ads in 2013, down from $1.3 million in 2012, according to Kantar.

Liz Ross, President BPN North America stated that the new client is “an exciting, new category introduction for BPN.”
Other BPN North America clients include Hillshire Brands, Six Flags, Applebees and Subaru.
Spain-based Famosa has forecast revenues of about $312 million for its current fiscal year, up 10% from the prior year.
