This Hot Dog Lover Is Really Miffed That Heinz Put Ketchup Bottles In That Cute Super Bowl Dachshund Ad

Penning a bit of a screed on his Hot Dog Diaries blog, Mark Andel writes: "Some Super Bowl copywriter and creative director and big-time ad agency apparently don’t know Chicagoans – or they don’t care."

I'm guessing that commentary isn't limited to Chicagoans.

Of the fact that there are ketchup bottles in the Heinz ad, created by David in Miami, Andel writes: "But mustard. That is what you put on a hot dog. That’s the only liquid, unless you count the moisture in the relish or a bit of juice from the dill spear. There is a mustard bottle standing there in the Heinz commercial, but he’s outnumbered by an array of ketchups including an 'organic.' Give me a break. The mustard would mop the floor with that guy."

Hahaha. Granted, I'm a fan of mustard on hot dogs, but I've seen quite a sizable collection of folks who love their hot dog with lots of ketchup. And, come on, this is America, the land of the free, right? We might be killing everyone with guns and rallying behind idiotic buffoons for President but the least we can do is have the freedom to put ketchup on our hot dogs!
