Healthcare Summit Set For Kyiv This Fall

Ready for a business trip to Kyiv?

Pencil it in for Nov. 7-9, when the first International Healthcare Summit will hold forth in the Ukranian capital.

The event -- organized by Janz Corp., a global medical equipment supplier, and August Mission, a humanitarian nonprofit – has been “months in the making,” Makenzie Holland, Janz marketing manager, tells Marketing Daily.

“Our CEO was part of a delegation that met with Ukrainian ministers in Kyiv several months back,” she explains. “This inspired us to do the Summit. Fortunately, we have employees in Kyiv that can help us with the logistics.”

Those logistics include time out from Summit sessions to visit local hospitals and rehabilitation centers, and to meet with healthcare-related dignitaries.

The Summit will feature discussions on “medical innovation, education, and medical expertise, in various fields and modalities with an emphasis on military-related injuries and rehabilitation,” the partners say . Specific topics will include “Battlefield Trauma” (hemorrhagic shock, traumatic brain injuries, transport), “Hospital Services” (surgical procedures, pharmaceuticals, medical equipment), “Rehabilitation” (prosthetics, mental health), and "Lessons Learned" in a wartime environment.

For “safety reasons,” Holland cannot reveal how many people are expected to attend, but acknowledges that the majority will be from the U.S. and Ukraine. She notes, however, that the Summit is being promoted through Janz’s established social media platform in seven countries, and “we are accepting participants from all over the globe.”

What is revealed about attendees is that they will include “top officials from Ukraine, including representatives of the Cabinet of Ministers, heads of regional administrations, international organizations, Ukrainian medical institutions/doctors, and industry experts.”

The Summit will also have an exhibit area, limited “to 50 exhibitors to emphasize that this conference is about collaboration and learning,” Holland explains.
